I am Rémy Dassonneville, passionate about quantum technologies and electron spin resonance (EPR). Since 2023, I have joined the MAGnetism team as a lecturer-researcher at the Institut Matériaux Microélectronique Nanosciences Provence (IM2NP, CNRS, Aix-Marseille University).

In my research, I not only want to study innovative spin materials characterized by interesting quantum properties (e.g., rare earth ions in a crystalline matrix), but I also want to develop and push the boundaries of EPR instrumentation by using and extending quantum technologies.

In this context, I benefited from the Infranalytics network by accessing the BIP X-band (9 GHz) EPR (pulsed mode) spectrometer. Thanks to this opportunity, I was able to test and compare the performance of non-standard microwave cavities, optimized to be more suitable for certain types of samples and aimed, for example, at improving the sensitivity of measurements, or developing new methodologies for excitation and spin detection.
